These images are created by holding magazine pages up to a window. To 'shine a light on’ means to reveal a hidden meaning. Secret desires, murky intentions, complex narratives emerge out of the flat commercial objectives of modern glossy publications. The collage effect relates to the art movements of Surrealism and the Situationists, both interested in the long-term psychological effects of modern life under capitalism. A large variety of sources were used, including Thai, American, Russian, Australian and Napali publications.
