After V.S. Ramachandran & his mirror box therapy to treat phantom limb pain, we devised a similar situation for ourselves. Looking at one hand and its reflection in a mirror, while filming the other hand, we move both in sync. Movement is only dictated by trying to convince ourselves that the virtual (hand in the mirror) is the real (that there is no mirror in play). Since the mirror also conceals the video camera, the act also touches on a willful suspension of disbelief/ belief set up by the performers. We say "NOW" each time we feel convinced.
